'PHRASE' Search:
By surrounding a phrase with quotation marks, documents with that exact phrase appear.

Phrase yields documents containing the exact phrase, "statute of limitations"

ADDITIONAL SEARCH FUNCTIONS

Searching in the FULL DOCUMENT QUERY box:
Users can use the Full Document box to search for a desired case or statute. The best way to accomplish this is by enclosing the case or statute in quotation marks as a phrase.

STATUTE:

Statute

NOTE: depending upon your state's code, you may need to place periods, colons or hyphens between code, chapter, and section number

Please Note:
Commonly occurring words (i.e. judge, court, etc.) that appear in virtually every case may cause an error message and should be avoided.
NAVIGATION BAR FUNCTION
Once a case is selected, additional navigation options appear:

Navbarfunc

CASECHECK
Casemaker's CASEcheck feature allows users to instantly determine the treatment of the case in question by a later court. By clicking on the hyperlink beside the case being viewed, CASEcheck transports the user to the exact portion of the later case where the current case is cited.

Casecheck

Users can read the text surrounding the citation and determine for themselves the treatment of the case in question.
CASEcheck is always visible on the right hand side of the screen when viewing a case in case law. CASEcheck shows the most recent cases in all states and federal libraries, with the current state library being searched shown first, all others in alphabetical order below.

BROWSE MODE
Casemaker's Browse feature allows users to peruse all library books. Users can click on hyperlinks to read titles to determine what documents they may be interested in viewing. By accessing the Casemaker toolbar, users can easily switch back and forth between browsing and searching.

Browsemode
SUPERCODE
Casemaker's SUPERcode feature ensures that practitioners know what changes are being made to statutes. When accessing a statute, the tool is always visible on the right-hand side of the screen. If a viewed statute has been affected by legislation, a link to the law will appear. The hyperlink will direct the user to the exact portion of the legislation that affects the statute. This will allow the user to decide if the most salient point of the document will change or otherwise be affected.

Supercode

Session Laws are incorporated into the statutes on an annual basis. Once an annual update of the statutes occurs, new Session Laws cumulate as they are passed and signed. New Session Laws may be accessed by browsing, searching, or through the SUPERcode feature.
